Wing Chun Fight Club, Palo Alto, CA Classic Tee

"I know Kung Fu!"
Neo awakens from the download with gigabytes of Kung Fu knowledge installed into his brain. Wouldn't that be great? Instead, we have to install Kung Fu the old-fashioned way: with deliberate, consistent practice.
In 1999 an unlikely group of code monkeys, hackers, UX designers and console cowboys met in a garage in Palo Alto, California to discuss an unlikely topic: Kung Fu.
Residents of this high-tech town were not exactly strangers to Chinese martial arts. San Francisco to the north boasted one of America's greatest concentration of Kung Fu masters. Across the bay in Oakland, Bruce Lee had established his second Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute, and Jeet Kune Do was still being taught in the area. But the nerds in Palo Alto wanted the source code to Lee's art; they wanted to explore Wing Chun.
From garages to conference rooms, basements to beaches, multiple generations of the Palo Alto Fight Club group has continued to study, train, and fight for over 20 years.
This classic t-shirt captures both the high-tech vibe of Silicon Valley and the deep traditions of Shaolin Wing Chun Kung Fu. The Matrix-style rain of Chinese characters aren't random: they encode ancient wisdom from the Wing Chun Kuen Kit, or the Training Maxims of Wing Chun Kung Fu.
Reading from left-to-right, the characters read:
Southern Shaolin Temple Wing Chun Fist Kung Fu.
Strike in a straight line; use shortest distance to strike first.
Use body structure to neutralize and footwork to dissolve.
Use your structure to collapse the opponent's structure.
Use the body mass properly; converge rather than spread out.
Power is generated from the ground.
Harmony of mind and body.
Hand loss, spring forward.
Simultaneous attack and defense.
All kicks go with the hands.
As he comes, receive him; as he leaves, escort him.
Too much concentration on hitting will get you hit.
Bong Sau never stays.
Chase the body, not the hands.
Yield; do not resist the opponent with muscular strength.
Redirect attacking force from centerline to shoulder line.
Move steadily to maintain the centerline.
Move in harmony with the opponent's flow of force.
Collapse the weaker attack, but detain the stronger attack.
Kung Fu Life
Wing Chun Kuen
Tan Sau
