Wing Chun Kung Fu Baseball Cap
$25.00
Live the Kung Fu Life in style! This adjustable baseball cap features an embroidered Wing Chun Kung Fu symbol and the Chinese calligraphy for "Wing Chun Kung Fu." This premium hat has a low profile with an adjustable strap and curved visor.
The central Kung Fu Floret represents the spirit or mindset of one who lives the Kung Fu Life: resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity. The graceful shape is drawn from the Chinese plum blossom, known as meihua (梅花).
The plum flower blooms vibrantly amidst the winter snow, and symbolizes perseverance, courage and strength. In Confucianism the plum blossom represents the principles and values of virtue, and in Zen it symbolizes the transitory nature of life.
As the icon of spring, the plum blossom also came to symbolize the martial art that developed in the Wing Chun Kwoon (詠春館) — the “Hall of Eternal Springtime” — of the southern Shaolin Temple (少林寺, Shàolínsì). That concept-based fighting system became known as Wing Chun Kuen (詠春拳 , Yǒngchūnquán), or simply Wing Chun (詠春).
The spiked thorns within the floret — intentionally reminiscent of the universal biohazard symbol — represent danger. This blending of resilience and courage with danger and martial skill perfectly encapsulates the concepts and principles of Shaolin Wing Chun Kung Fu.
